I have the energy, enthusiasm and experience to tackle our biggest challenges.
I am a passionate advocate for local communities, having dedicated nearly a decade to improving Invercargill and serving its people. With a background in marketing, customer experience (CX), and a deep understanding of local government systems, I’ve worked alongside local government, businesses and community organisations to create strategies and implement plans that foster positive change. My experience spans a wide range of projects, including infrastructure development and arts and heritage initiatives, all aimed at improving the lives of our residents and creating a city that truly reflects our shared values.
Currently, I co-chair the Local Government New Zealand’s Young Elected Members network, which connects Mayors, Chairs, and Elected Members nationwide. I also serve on Local Government New Zealand’s National Council, building strong connections with Central government. These roles, along with my extensive experience, have given me the insight and skills to lead with purpose and make informed decisions that benefit Invercargill.
In my current role as Head of Marketing and Client Experience at a local business and advisory firm, I’ve had the privilege of being in the leadership team and developing solid business acumen. Over the years, I’ve also served on various boards and committees, including as a trustee for Active Southland and chair of Southland Youth Futures, Ride Southland, Wastenet to name a few.
During my last term as Chair of the Chairs group, I had the privilege of leading the council in the absence of the former Mayor and navigating through a Department of Internal Affairs investigation. This experience highlighted the critical importance of strong leadership and setting a positive cultural tone from the top. My efforts during this challenging period were recognised with a nomination as a finalist for the Institute of Directors Emerging Director Award.
Armed with a wealth of experience in regional promotion, I’ve been involved in projects like Naked Creative’s The Life magazine, the Inner City Map and the Inner City Guide. I offer proactive, accountable and forward-thinking leadership, combining youthful perspective, strength of character and personal integrity. My leadership has proven to be fiscally responsible, ensuring that the interests of ratepayers and residents always come first.
Invercargill is where my heart is. I am a product of our people! I grew up here, went to school here and now live as a ratepayer alongside you with my family. The decisions we make at the table directly impact my own life and the future of our community. I am committed to ensuring that Invercargill remains a bright, sustainable and inclusive city for all of our people.

Experience and Commitment
I bring experience, energy, and commitment to the table. Over nearly a decade of serving this community, I have built strong relationships within Invercargill and right across the nation. I know that good relationships save us money, and I am committed to rebuilding and nurturing those ties.

As your Mayor, I will continue to be a positive spokesperson for Invercargill. I will advocate for our city with energy and determination, and I will always be there for our community, even when others pull back. I’ve proven i’m committed, no matter what.
A Vision for our Future
As Mayor, my greatest opportunity is to harness the potential of our council and implement the community’s vision. It’s not about being another CEO; it’s about being the advocate our city needs, working with our team to reflect the positive spirit of Invercargill.

My approach will be grounded in careful planning and accountability, ensuring that we not only meet today’s needs but also secure a strong, sustainable financial future for Invercargill. Every decision will be made with a focus on maximising public good and minimising waste.
A City That Reflects All of Us
Alot of people don’t know I grew up in South City, where I attended Clifton Full Primary School, the lowest decile primary school in Invercargill before the reforms in 2002. From that experience, I learned the importance of making every dollar count, stretching it as far as possible. I also learned the value of diversity and how it strengthens our community.
-
With nearly a decade of governance experience, a strong network of regional and national influence, and a deep understanding of our city's needs, I am now ready to step up and lead with a vision that reflects all of our people, from every walk of life.
Intergenerational Decision Making
As your Mayor, I will focus on intergenerational decision-making - ensuring that the choices we make today leave a lasting, positive legacy for our children and grandchildren. I want to see a city that’s sustainable, vibrant, and thriving for generations to come. And, God willing, I hope to be around to witness the impact of these decisions.
-
I will also ensure that the Council creates opportunities for citizens to engage early in the decision-making process. Empowering individuals to contribute their unique perspectives and ideas will strengthen our community.
Passion for Local Government
I have spent my entire adult life working within and alongside this community, through volunteer work, community service and developing strong business acumen. This community has shaped me, and I am ready to stand up and represent the people who have given me so much.
-
Though I am still in my thirties, my experience speaks for itself. I have worked tirelessly with this community, and I understand the challenges we face. I believe our city is ready for leadership that truly represents the people -someone with proven experience who can reflect their values and vision.
Fiscal Prudence
Fiscal prudence is a cornerstone of my leadership. I am committed to ensuring that every dollar of public money is spent wisely and effectively. By prioritising initiatives that deliver the greatest benefit to our community, I will advocate for changes that create long-term value, while avoiding unnecessary expenditure.
